The Outer Wall

January 15, 2011

Castle and Medieval MOCs are two of my favorite theme’s and today I found this outer wall MOC that captivated me by its technique of using tiles to bust the effect of stone bricks and the farmer working in the cotton field.

Castle Hadrian

November 14, 2010

Stefan F (aka busboy489) built this beautiful castle for the Realist Castle category of CCCVIII at Classic Castle.
Among all the incredible details I liked the wooden bridge built with round bricks and the top of the biggest roof. Finally, the technique is not new but I really like the color bricks that break the monotony of the gray wall.

Journey to Camelot

November 8, 2010

Journey to Camelot is another cool micro-construction of the legendary city of Camelot. This version of Camelot was built by blego7 with great construction techniques (see the pictures bellow). The small boat is one of my favorites pieces in this layout.

Here’s one of the most interesting details of this construction, where blego7 used a pile of small 1 x 2 panels to show this nice “stair” effect:

The Lost Castle

October 12, 2010

The Lost Castle is one of the most impressive castle constructions that I ever seen. This masterpiece was built by Tender Shadow and as so many cool details and genius techniques that I don’t know where to start. The bridge is one of my favorites. Look how he built the roof. And look at the tower windows. Look again and see how awesome is the gate.

Definitely The Lost Castle will become one of the best constructions of this year!

Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying?

October 9, 2010

Derfel Cadarn has done it again!!! A beautiful medieval diorama “A deadly group of dragon knights are storming the land, visiting every wealthy Lord and land owner and giving them one choice, you either pay for peace or die, simple! Can You put a price on peace?”

We are used to see some masterpieces made by Derfel, and this MOC is no exception. It’s hard to enumerate all the amazing details, but I’m looking at the small bridge, the highly detailed wooden decoration of the house, the stone walls and the great minifig situations.

SnowLion Keep

October 6, 2010

We’re at the beginning of Fall but LegoLord went some months ahead and presents this cool castle in the middle of the snow. The overall design is good, I liked some of the details in the walls and it’s not common to see a castle in a snow environment. He just forgot to introduce some snow over the building to give a more realist effect of the winter environment. Nevertheless, is a nice construction to admire!

Eggplants Chateau

September 21, 2010

Castles are one of my favorite types of MOCs and Eggplants Chateau built by Eggy Pop explains why. The color gradient bellow the tower gives a nice water depth effect, the rock work is nice and I loved the way he used the grey “yellowed” bricks to build the wall and make it more real.

another nice feature of this MOC is the fact that Eggy only used four different colors: grey, blue, brown & white.

Castello Rosso

August 16, 2010

Built for Classic-Castles 32×32 primary color challenge, busboy489 presents a very nice castle with a balanced construction within a 32×32 plate. Both the towers and walls have cool details such as the tall battlements with the little red cheese bricks in the top.

Medieval Layout of Arte em Peças

August 9, 2010

Arte em Peças” (Art with bricks), was an event that occurred from 7 to 13 June in Paredes de Coura and organized by the 0937 Community.

History Bricks already presented the House of History that was one of the MOCs unveiled during the exhibition. This time, I’ll present the medieval layout. The layout is very interesting and shows the assault of the castle with a huge army.

Blacwin Castle

May 26, 2010

Today is Castle day! I was missing a good fortress for some time and busboy489 filled that gap. The castle has a balanced structure with several towers and a lot of micro-details in the walls.
